Weekend Adventures

Yesterday, if you were to ask me how far I would go for a piece of pizza, I would've said probably a couple blocks. Yet this afternoon, I took two subways and an hour and a half of my life, and I traveled all the way to Midwood (I had never heard of this place either) for two slices of heaven at Di Fara's. The original owner Dom, who must be close to 90 years old, works behind the counter, shoveling pies in and out of the oven, cutting basil leaves, and sprinkling a handful of mozzarella over the pizzas. We waited about an hour and had to fight for space at a folding table, but we left full and satisfied, so the Brooklyn adventure had a happy ending.
