Since I've been having a "menswear moment" lately, this is pretty much my perfect NYE party look. Here's to a wonderful 2011!

Maggie Rizer
I hate to admit it, but I think about Maggie Rizer way too often. You know, that model from the late 90's with the round face and the red (sometimes blond) hair. I might have even been more obsessed with her than with Kate Moss or Linda Evangelista until she dropped off the face of Vogue in the early 2000s.
So if you're like me (because of course, you are), you'll be pretty much ecstatic to discover her blog Bea Makes Three. It's mostly nonsense about her dogs and husband and such, but she still looks like she lives in a J.Crew ad.
Some facts about Maggie (taken from Wikipedia, natch):
1. She's from Staten Island (who knew people actually came from there!)
2. Her dad was gay and died of AIDS (sad).
3. She looks even younger now than she did in 1999 when she was on the cover of Vogue with Kate Moss (she actually ages backwards).
4. Sources (me) say this blog might be the start of her big modeling comeback.
Finger's crossed.

The Band That Changed Everything
Today I was posed this question: "What if it turned out the Beatles were American actors and their whole story was invented as a huge music marketing ploy?" I guess I would never look at Strawberry Fields the same way again.
P.S. I hate to admit it, but I'm enjoying the Beatles ads for iTunes a little too much.

Winter Food
Semi-arctic temperatures make me thankful for pretzel croissants and hot chocolate at City Bakery. The $9.25 price tag, however, makes me gasp in horror. Oh well.

White Socks + Black Shoes
What say you, blog readers: Would you dare to wear white socks with black shoes? I tried the combo a couple months ago. At work, I was compared to Audrey Hepburn. Then the bf saw and said I looked like a fashion disaster (paraphrasing). I still think I like the look, but I'm open to suggestions.

Oh, Christmas Tree
Instead of a big tree, we have two small feather trees this year. But they're sitting in the corner – sad and bare and in desperate need of decoration. With some quick inspiration, I might be getting crafty this weekend.
