Cynthia Rowley Resort 2011

I didn't get a drive-by show of Cynthia Rowley's resort collection like the editors at Hearst, Conde, and Time Inc., but I did get a first-hand look when I visited her Bleeker Street boutique yesterday. The line contained elements of Fall 2010 (tassels, color-block panels) and her collaboration with Roxy (an adorable pink swimsuit). Skirts were longer, but everything was light and flowy (even the denim pieces) and perfect for jetting off to the south of France, if that's in your cards for winter.

Balenciaga Resort 2011

Nicholas Ghesquiere has once again shown an amazing collection for Balenciaga. He refers to it as "techno boheme," but to me it looks "retro futuristic." Because one oxymoron deserves another.

Gingham Shorts

I’ve been trying to stay away from gingham this summer. Because it’s gingham. And it’s summer. It’s  just too…expected.

So damn this Aussie (and Vanessa Hudgens look-alike?) for making me fall in love with gingham shorts. They’re so fresh! They’re so now! I hate myself.
