I can't stop eating them. It started innocently enough: a banana with peanut butter for breakfast or an afternoon snack. Then Judy made bananas foster - the most incredible dessert I've ever eaten in my life. Then I took it one step further with a pint of Haagen Dazs Bananas Foster ice cream that I found on sale at my local market. Then I panicked when I found out it's a limited edition flavor that will only be sold through December. (Better stock up now!)
Oh, and did I mention I can't stop eating plantains since my trip to Miami a couple weeks ago?

To the Salon!
I know I'm all about the hair lately because I watched The City for the first time this season, and the only thing I could think about was how Oliva Palermo was BRUNETTE! This girl used to be very blond. It looks like the transformation happened in a few steps. I've considered going blond several times, but I don't think I can commit that kind of time (and money, let's be honest) to a salon.
Summer Streaks
There's no way I'm cool enough (nor young enough) to pull off colored streaks in my hair, but oh how I wish I could. On a side note, I thought Teen Vogue was rather good this month.

Cruisin'
When I started packing for my Caribbean vacation last week, I thought it would be a low key week. A swimsuit, a beach towel, and two bottles of SPF 70 (sadly, not a joke). But one sundress lead to the next, and before I knew it, I was packing a week's worth of fancy cruise clothes – with heels. As my roommate Janelle said, "If you can't wear that dress on a cruise, when can you wear it?"

Birds of a Feather
Feathers are more December than May, but I just came across these bow ties from Lanvin's F/W 2008 menswear collection. I love how they're a little droopy and slightly askew yet totally luxe at the same time.
My Inner Hippie
Right now I am OBSESSED with tie-dye. Yes, 1960s-hippie-dippie-psychedelic tie-dye. If I reach way back in my brain, it probably started with Proenza Schouler's Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
(Or their Resort 2010 collection – see that tie-dye shirt peaking out?)
Then I uncovered a thin, vintage tie-dye shirt I've had for years at the bottom of my drawer. I wore it to work, and I started seeing tie-dye everywhere.
At the Tory Burch store, I couldn't keep my hands off these leather shorts.
At American Apparel, I eyed this hoodie once or twice or three times. (I just wish they make it in a zip-up.)
At the Woodbury Commons outlet, I saw these Christian Louboutin flats. They were a size too big, but you can imagine I tried to justify buying them anyway.
If everything goes according to plan, I will be one tie-dye bikini closer to my ideal vacation wardrobe very soon.
